Welcome! I am happy you are here. My name is Nidhi, and I live in Northern California with my husband and daughter. We love to experience new things –immerse ourselves in other cultures and travel around the world– all while dancing, laughing, and enjoying the little things along the way.

“My Twinkling Lights” was inspired by the stars shimmering in the night sky while riding on a boat through the Amazon River. The distance from the city let them shine bright, illuminating our path. Sometimes in life I have needed to step back, take stock and look for the twinkling lights to guide me through. This blog is an ode to those twinkling lights.

Family, friends, food, and travel are some of my twinkling lights. They are my support system and have helped me overcome many dark days.

I started this blog to document my food, travel and lifestyle while managing life with Ankylosis Spondylitis (AS)- an autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation in your body. Even though AS impacts women, it is called a man’s disease. I’ve struggled to find relatable information online especially pertaining to its manifestation in females. Through this blog I wanted to share the experiences that have helped me lead a full, active life, so those who may be dealing with chronic conditions like mine can find support and others can gain some insight into this disease.

Would love to hear your feedback and any experiences you want to share! I can’t wait for you can join me in my journey as I walk, run, and stumble through this crazy adventure called life, guided by my bright twinkling lights.
